Carnelian and gold shell necklace
Rich in colour, the carnelian beads of this necklace pair wonderfully with gold. Used since before the days of the Pharaohs, carnelian feels like an ancient energy. The shell is sourced from Lizard Island on the Great Barrier Reef, and carefully cast so as not to damage the actual shell, allowing it to be returned to the beach. This process results in a solid gold shell, perfectly mimicking the original. Solid gold beads and clasp complete the necklace.
Living alongside the coast, loving the ocean, beaches, and the wildlife that inhabit the sea, has highlighted the need for urgent change in the way we use and dispose of plastics. $5 from the sale of each Oceanic series piece will be donated to the Australian Marine Conservation Society in support of their Ocean Plastic Pollution campaign.
Handmade in Australia. Length 43cm. Carnelian 6mm polished round. 9kt and 14kt gold, silk.
